Project Goal: Expand Williams-Sonoma's online bridal registry service into a complete e-commerce site.

My Role: Information Architect

The Story: I took a contract with USWeb/CKS to work on Williams-Sonoma so that I could expand my experience in e-commerce Web site design. I was also attracted to the project because I knew that Williams-Sonoma had not rushed to establish a Web presence because they wanted to be sure that the design and customer service they were known for were properly executed on the Web.

I served as information architect, mapping the existing registry functionality to the new requirements for the full-service consumer site. I also helped formulate the vision for future expanded growth of the site and extension of the commerce engine for additional Williams-Sonoma brands.

The site was finalist for @d:tech 2000's Best Consumer Commerce Web Site award.
