Near the end of the course, we pursued our own conceptual work. Changing from the way I used to work, I started smaller images (20 in. square), painted in oil (I had been drawing exclusively for almost six years). Where my previous work focused on idealized images of flowers and human figures, these works focus on the beautiful in the imperfect, the diseased even. |
