Tessa Sutton is an oil painter recently relocated to the Bay Area from the hills of Iowa where she spent four years learning about art and history at Grinnell College, and also from the mountains of Tuscany, where she also studied painting. Through the layering of representational and abstract elements, she is investigating a bodily connection to the movement of objects in a space, and exploring how one object can reveal or conceal another. She is inspired by tiny scraps of discarded beauty and small ocean rocks. This is her first show since she left the farmlands of the midwest.
