Reem Rahim is an Iraqi-American Artist who earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she grew up. She has been in the Bay Area for the past year and a half working towards her MFA degree from John F. Kennedy University. She teaches and teacher-trains for the City of Oakland Arts and Literacy program. She is partners in her own tea-packaging business. Her artwork is about integrating seeming dualities, the external or cultural and internal or psychological. A process of un-covering and recovering, her artwork maps an internal landscape. Whether representational or abstract, her paintings aim to dissolve meaning into form.
