Amey Fearon Mathews is a Bay Area native whose work relates to and originates from her body, uncovering the stories, histories and memories that it holds. Her abstractions translate physical sensations into intimate messages. She finds meditation in representational painting and the mysteries of abstraction. This spring, Mathews emerges from a long hibernation with her first two shows in three years: Madak5, currently on view at Art Space in Virginia and this show, Constellating.
