Tanya Hastings recently returned home to the Bay Area after living in the Metro Detroit Area for the past four years. She earned her MFA in Painting at Cranbrook Academy of Art and is currently working as a professional artist completing private and public commissions, instructing drawing and painting, and has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions. Hastings creates a layered, rich atmosphere in her work in which she places clear representational elements. All the elements in her work are drawn from and represent intrinsic body knowledge, memories and sensations. Tanya is currently an Affiliate Artist at Headland Center for the Arts.
